Grand Antiquity Society of Glasgow

The Grand Antiquity Society of Glasgow is a rather exclusive institution of the Trades House with a membership restricted to people who are third or more generation burgesses of the City of Glasgow.

This year's Preses is Lyon Macer, Roderick Macpherson. As Preses, Roddy welcomed the Patron, the Princess Royal, to a a dinner at the Trades Hall on Thursday 19th October 2017.

During the dinner, Roddy presented HRH with a framed copy of the Grand Antiquity Reel, composed in 1909 by James Booth, when the famous Glasgow music publisher, Mozart Allan was Preses.

The Society was founded in 1756, the birth-year,as it happens, of the real Mozart, and matriculated arms in 1930.
