IV International Birmingham Heraldry Conference

There was a large turn-out of HSS members at the IV International Birmingham Heraldry Conference earlier this week, where the theme was Church/Faith Heraldry.

Among the members present were Thomas Leslie KSG, our treasurer Stuart Emerson, Ralph Brocklebank, David Waterton-Anderson KSG, Paul Borrow-Longain, Roger Whitworth and Keith Lovell.

Three HSS members gave papers:
Richard d'Apice gave an excellent presentation on the heraldry of the Catholic Church in Australia.

Howard Connell gave an interesting talk on the Arms of the Diocese of Sodor and Man,

while Unicorn expounded on ecclesiastical grants from the Lyon Court.

Lyon gave a highly-amusing toast to "Happy Heraldry" at the Gala Dinner in St Paul's Club.
