Heraldry Exhibition - Glasgow, October 1st - 3rd 2017

A date for your diaries!

The historic Trades Hall of Glasgow, built by Robert Adam in 1794, will be the magnificent venue for an Exhibition of Heraldry, in association with the Lyon Court, from Sunday 1st - Tuesday 3rd October 2017. Although not on the scale of the 1891 and 1995 exhibitions, we will have plenty of interest including some historic items from the National Library of Ireland and the Lyon Office itself. There will also be workshops for schoolchildren, directed by the Court Artists, running alongside the Exhibition.

On Monday 2nd October 2017 at 6 p.m. Charles Burnett, lately Ross Herald, will give a talk on the changing styles of heraldic art, followed by a drinks reception and formal dinner in the saloon. More details to follow.

Bearing in mind the first lecture of the 2017-2018 HSS series in Edinburgh is the day before, Saturday 30th September, this would be a good opportunity for people from further afield to come and join us for a jolly long weekend of heraldry and hospitality.

Our generous sponsors include the Hospitality Inn/ La Bonne Auberge Restaurant, who are paying for the educational activities, and the Eglinton Arms Hotel, Eaglesham, which is sponsoring an exhibit on the Eglinton Tournament.
